TNPSC 2024 Exam Dates Announced: How to Download Your Hall Ticket
The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has officially announced the exam dates for 2024. Candidates are now required to download their hall tickets from the official website to participate in the examination.
An official notification on the website states, “The Commission has announced the opening of applications for direct recruitment to positions under the Combined Civil Services Examination-II (Group II and IIA Services) (OBJECTIVE TYPE) (Notification No.08/2024 dated 20.06.2024). The Common Preliminary Examination (OMR Mode) is scheduled to take place on 14.09.2024 in the forenoon.”
According to the official notification released by TNPSC, the TNPSC 2024 exam is scheduled to take place on┬аSeptember 14, 2024. Candidates must follow the proper procedure to download their hall tickets to ensure they are prepared for the exam.
Steps to Download the Hall Ticket:
- Visit the Official TNPSC Website: TNPSC Official Website
- Click on the ‘Examination’ Tab: On the homepage, locate and click on the ‘Examination’ or ‘Examination Hall Ticket’ option.
- Click on the Hall Ticket Download Link: Look for the ‘Download Hall Ticket’ link related to the TNPSC exam notification and click on it.
- Enter Required Information: Provide your registration number and date of birth as required.
- Obtain and Print Your Hall Ticket: After filling in the details correctly, your hall ticket will be displayed on the screen. Download it and take a printout for future reference.

Exam Pattern for TNPSC Group 2 Exam 2024
The TNPSC Group 2 exam comprises two main stages:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type):The preliminary exam for TNPSC Group 2 is an objective-type test lasting 3 hours. It evaluates candidates on three primary subjects: General English, General Studies, and Aptitude and Mental Ability. The breakdown is as follows: General English includes 100 questions, General Studies has 75 questions, and Aptitude and Mental Ability Test features 25 questions.
- Main Examination (Descriptive Type):The main examination is descriptive and consists of two papers:
- Paper I – Tamil Language Proficiency: This paper tests candidates’ Tamil language skills through translation, pr├йcis writing, comprehension, essay writing, and letter writing. It is worth 100 marks and spans 3 hours.
- Paper II – General Knowledge: This paper evaluates candidates’ general knowledge at a degree level and is worth 300 marks. It also has a duration of 3 hours.
