Oli Slipper, Chair of Surrey Cricket Club, paid tribute to Thorpe: “Graham was one of Surrey’s greatest sons, and there is deep sadness that he will no longer walk through the gates of The Oval. A true legend of the club, he brought immense pride as both a cricketer and as a person. His contributions to Surrey were outstanding, and he will be profoundly missed.”

The ECB also honored Thorpe’s legacy, stating: “Graham Thorpe was not only one of England’s finest batters but also a beloved figure in the cricketing world. His exceptional skill and achievements over a 13-year international career brought joy to his teammates and fans of England and Surrey CCC. His later role as a coach, guiding England’s top talent to numerous victories, further solidified his remarkable impact on the sport.”
