Howrah-Mumbai Train Accident: Two killed, 20 injured as 18 coaches derail in Jharkhand
The Howrah-Mumbai train derailed, causing 18 of its coaches to go off the tracks.
At least two people have been reported killed in the accident and 20 individuals have been injured, with varying degrees of severity.
The derailment occurred near Chakradharpur in Jharkhand, which is a significant location due to its role as a key railway junction. The accident took place around 3:45 a.m., after which Accident Relief Medical Equipment (ARME), with staff and Additional Divisional Railway Managers CKP (Chakradharpur Railway Station), reached on-site to manage the situation.
Emergency services and railway authorities are on the ground to provide medical aid and assist with rescue operations. Efforts are also underway to clear the tracks and restore normal train services.
This incident underscores the critical need for continuous monitoring and maintenance of railway infrastructure to prevent such tragedies.
